New cyclepath to be built between Falmer and Woodingdean
News from the University of Sussex's Website:
This footpath between Falmer and Woodingdean will be widened and upgraded to create a 2.5-metre wide limestone path for both pedestrians and cyclists.
The University has welcomed news of a new cyclepath that will make local travel safer for cyclists and pedestrians.
Construction of a cyclepath between Falmer and Woodingdean is to start in the week commencing 1 July, says Brighton & Hove City Council.
After many years of discussion, the existing footpath will be widened and upgraded to create a 2.5-metre wide limestone path for both pedestrians and cyclists.
Chris Wadey, Transport Manager for the University, said: All investments in the local transport infrastructure are welcome, and we are fully supportive of this project, which will get cyclists off the busy Woodingdean road and make it safer for them to travel to and from campus.
The construction works are expected to continue until mid September and during this time the existing footpath will be closed.
