American Cheerleaders to perform at Deans Festival - Woodingdean
The Deans festival is delighted to welcome a troop of American cheerleaders this Saturday (18 May). More than 60 cheerleaders from Texas will perform at the Festival, a long way from their usual venues of football stadiums and State parades. The Cardettes are bringing their professional cheerleading to our annual community event, part of the 2013 Brighton Fringe.
The Deans Festival organisers are delighted to see such an internationally renowned act alongside talented local performers taking to the arena throughout the day in the grounds of Woodingdean Primary School. Alix Macfarlane, Deans Festival committee, said: "It's very exciting to see the Deans Festival included in the Cardettes' UK tour. We are sure they will help make this year's event another day to remember."
The Deans Festival, now in its fifth year, takes place on Saturday 18th May, 11am to 4pm. The Cardettes will be on the field shortly after 11.30am.
As well as the arena show, visitors can enjoy a range of attractions and popular games. Festival-goers can try out the go-kart track, climbing wall, football penalty challenge and bouncy slides. There is also a licensed beer tent and food stalls including a barbecue, cafe and a selection of cakes and sweets. Entry to the festival is FREE.
The Deans Festival won the Argus Achievement Award for Community event of the Year in 2012. The day is possible thanks to support from businesses including Southern Water, Bupa, Legal & General and Autovets. The Deans Festival was also awarded a grant from The Argus Appeal.
